Hey everyone. Today I want to share one of those doodles that just kind of happen while you’re sketching. This little guy was born completely unplanned. Honestly, I started with a simple shell swirl; I just wanted to twist something around. But then the ears somehow popped out on their own. Bunnies are so curious, they have to hear everything, right? So, this strange but, I think, pretty cute combination emerged. I really wanted bright, calm colors. That mix of coral pink and mint green always reminded me of something cozy, maybe warm summer days by the sea.
I keep thinking about his character. Is he trying to run, but the snail shell is holding him back? Or is he just enjoying the journey, listening to everything around him? I like to think he just calmly moves through the world, watching how everything changes, and isn’t rushing anywhere. He has time to think about things deeper. Maybe we all need to be like these “snail-rabbits” sometimes: relax and just be.
We’ll see what’s next for him. Maybe stickers, maybe a print. I haven’t decided yet. But for now, I just love the feeling of peace he gives off.
