Measuring up to a new day! I wanted to share this little clever character I’ve been working on, part prehistoric predator, part office essential. This combination felt just too witty to pass up.
You will see what I mean. I kept the design simple and clean, focusing on the essential shape of a light-green crocodile. The main body and belly, however, are a calibrated ruler, right down to the little number ‘5’ marked along its length. It was a fun challenge to balance the shape of a crocodile with the required lines and numbers of a functional ruler.
I really enjoy bringing these kinds of unexpected, playful ideas to life. There’s something satisfying about taking a standard object and blending it with an animal to make you double-take. It’s a lighthearted piece, and I really hope this measured monster brings a smile to your face today. I could see this as a fun little enamel pin or a patch on a jacket. I made sure my signature, SEMUELIS, is right there on the front claw!
