Sometimes drawing without a plan leads to the most fun results. This post is about my newest doodle, which is a blue whale that somehow ended up with yellow moose antlers. When i started sketching on my screen, i only wanted to draw a normal ocean animal. Then i decided it would be much better to mix it up with a forest creature.
The result is this weird little guy with tiny sharp teeth and a blank stare. It definitely does not make any logical sense, but that is exactly why i love drawing these things. Art does not always need to be serious or perfectly realistic. Often i just enjoy creating original characters that are a bit goofy and totally unexpected. The whole drawing process was fast and relaxing, keeping the outlines thick and the colors very flat and simple. This style fits perfectly into my growing portfolio of odd digital illustrations.
If you look closely, you can see my name written right there on its belly. That is just my way to mark that it belongs to the weird universe of semuelis. I hope this strange horned whale brings a smile to your face today. Thank you for stopping by and checking out my artwork.
